View Personal Energy Consumption with KillAWatt

May 25th, 2008 · No Comments

I just flipped open this month’s Inc magazine, and saw an interesting article on “green” options for offices. One of the devices they highlighted that caught my eye was the KillAWatt EZ by a company called P3 International. This is a cool little device. Essentially, you plug your device in to this, and then plug the KillAWatt in to the wall. You can power your appliances and devices and learn how much each object is actually costing you on a regular basis.

As energy prices continue to climb, I get the feeling devices and techniques like this will become much more commonplace. A device like this could be especially valuable to families that are already stretched thin and looking to cut energy costs at home - this way they can see which devices are the energy wasters - and make informed decisions about consumption. The more connected and aware people are of their personal power consumption - and the sources of their electricity - the more likely alternative solutions can become appealing.
