I caught an interesting video on GreenEnergyTV.com today about a new technology being developed in Australia that could provide a reasonable alternative to rooftop mounted solar. Apparently, 5 of these small, sub-$1000 wind generators may be able to provide enough power for an entire household. However, even if it does become economically viable - are there enough communities willing to accept rows of turning tubes on their roofs? The aesthetic debate to follow may expend more energy than the wind turbines can create.

I am very impressed with the video on Greenenergytv.com I think we will are just starting to see what inventors are doing and coming up with to save money and the enironment. I did see that Green Energy TV had many other videos with other cool green alternatives too.

Martin,
Yeah, there are a lot of good videos on Greenenergytv. Like they say - necessity is the mother of invention. I’d imagine we’re just seeing the first signs of small-scale, small-inventor solutions to our coming energy needs. Thanks for the comment!
